The Rassemblement Mauricien
A vision for Mauritius
The commitments that Nando Bodha and the Rassemblement Mauricien publicly champion, as he has set them out in Parliament, in the press and before the people of Mauritius.
Exemplary governance
Limit the Prime Minister to two terms, entrust appointments to key posts to an independent constitutional committee, and regulate the financing of political parties by law.
Purchasing power for families
A quality-price shield covering at least forty essential products, and a National Purchasing Power Council chaired by the head of government.
A more representative democracy
Electoral reform that introduces an element of proportional representation, improves the representation of women and puts an end to parliaments without an opposition.
A one-trillion-rupee economy
A strategy, dubbed the "One Trillion Rupee Economy", to grow the Mauritian economy to one trillion rupees within five years through innovation and the emergence of new sectors.
Dignity for our elders
A national consultation on pension reform, keeping the old-age pension age at 60, with targeted adjustments.
Security and the fight against drugs
Target the major traffickers, make financial investigations systematic and dismantle the narco-economy, with stronger, independent institutions.
Health care close to home
A full audit of the health system and the development of family medicine as close to patients as possible.
Full and complete sovereignty
Complete the decolonisation of the Chagos, guarantee fair reparation for the Chagossians and create a Chagos Memory Centre and an Indian Ocean forum.
The party
The Rassemblement Mauricien
Founded by Nando Bodha on 23 July 2021 at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis, the Rassemblement Mauricien was born of a conviction: Mauritius needs to bring its living forces together around values rather than interests.
Its cardinal value is written into its name: to bring people together. Its symbol is a flame, uniting earth, fire and water; its colours are terracotta and blue. Its priorities: democracy and meritocracy, the fight against drugs and corruption, reform of law and order, purchasing power and an ambitious economy.
