A child of Pamplemousses in the service of the Republic

Born in 1954 into a family of modest means in the north of the island, Nando Bodha climbed every step through education, hard work and commitment. Teacher, journalist, Director General of the MBC and barrister, he entered Parliament in 2000 and sat there for twenty-four years.

As Minister of Tourism and Leisure, of Agriculture, of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport, and then of Foreign Affairs, he linked his name to the return of rail to Mauritius, the modernisation of the road network and the opening of the country's trade towards Africa and Asia. Since 2021 he has led the Rassemblement Mauricien.

« The culture of power and the way the MSM is run no longer reflect the values and principles that have always defined my political career. »
Statement of 6 February 2021, the day he resigned from the government
